How to AFK on Hypixel Skyblock in 2026
A practical setup guide - what Hypixel actually enforces, the three tiers of Skyblock AFK, and how to wire MineBot up without burning your alt.
What Hypixel actually checks for
Hypixel's anti-cheat (Watchdog) looks for three families of signal: combat anomalies (reach, aimbot, killaura), movement anomalies (speed, fly, scaffold), and behavioural patterns (repetitive timing, perfect rotation). AFK farming sits squarely in the third bucket - so the way you set up the macro matters more than which farm you choose.
The three tiers of Skyblock AFK
Not every farm carries the same risk. Pick the tier that matches your tolerance:
Keep your island chunks loaded so passive farms (sugarcane, pumpkin, cocoa) keep growing while you sleep. Bot stays still, no interaction.
Active automation - repeated clicks, raycasting, item pickup. Needs anti-cheat-compliant movement and humanised timing.
Combat automation triggers the strictest checks on Hypixel. Doable, but high reward = high scrutiny. Not recommended for beginners.
Setting it up with MineBot
From a clean MineBot profile, the flow is:
- Add a dedicated alt. Microsoft account or TheAltening session - both are wired in. Never use your main.
- Pick the plugin.Auto Fish for fishing farms, Mob Grinder for island mob grinders, the dedicated Cobblestone Generator Farmer for cobble. All included on every plan.
- Enable anti-cheat-compliant movement. Open the profile's movement settings and turn on Smooth Look and Button-Press Movement . These were specifically reworked in March 2026 to slip past GrimAC- style checks.
- Assign a residential proxy. On Pro+ and Ultimate+, each bot can be given its own residential IP. This defeats IP-cluster detection - the most common reason multi-alt setups get rolled up.
- Schedule breaks. Use the (beta) scheduler to insert random idle windows. A bot that runs 24/0 without ever logging off is the easiest pattern to flag.
- Start, then watch the first hour. Open the activity log and confirm the bot's actually doing what you expect. Better to catch a misconfigured macro on day one than to find your inventory full of nothing on day three.
Tips to stay under the radar
- Don't run identical timing on every alt. Add ±10% jitter to macro intervals.
- Limit to ~3 alts per Skyblock profile. More than that on the same lobby is a flag in itself.
- Avoid scoreboard scraping. If your macro reads the scoreboard, set the polling interval to seconds, not ticks.
- Log out cleanly. Sudden mass-disconnects across an alliance look exactly as suspicious as they sound.
When AFK farming stops being worth it
If you're spending more time tuning the bot than you would spending grinding manually, the meta has moved past you. The sweet spot for AFK is passive income on farms that scale sub-linearly with your attention - sugarcane, fishing, mob islands. Combat slayer farms exist, but the risk-adjusted return tilts against you.
